The I vi IV V

1 6 4 5 in major keys the "Blue Moon" progression

Ubiquitous in the 50s and well into the 60s, now used more for nostalgic effect as in "Crocodile Rock" and "The Longest Time". Even non-musicians will find this one familiar. AKA the Doo-Wop Progression, the 50s Progression, and the Ice Cream Changes

Virtually interchangeable with the equally 50's cliche Category:I vi ii V .

Nowadays of course we would never overuse such a simple 4 chord progression. Right, 1 5 6 4?
